Health Teacher Portfolio
My Background
I attended Roberts Wesleyan University to earn my Bachelor's of Science degree in Physical Education. I hold New York State certification to teach Physical Education for students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. In addition to learning about the teaching profession, I also participated in college sports, continuing my passion for cross country running and basketball, just like I did in high school. I student taught in the West Irondequoit Central School District and Caledonia-Mumford Central School District.

I was able to gain teaching experience being a building substitute at Beaver River Central School District and as a Long Term Substitute for a teacher I worked with when I was student teaching after graduating in 2021.

I accepted a full time teaching position at West Irondequoit Central School District in the fall of 2022. I was a physical education teacher at Dake Jr. High school for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school year. This current school year, I now split my time between the Jr. High School and an elementary school in the district. I am also a coach for the district. I coach modified cross country, Mod A freshman basketball and Varsity track and field hurdles.

I decided to continue my education at the college of Brockport in 2023. I am working towards my Master's in Health Education. Being a health teacher is important to me as I want to help my students be healthy and teach them how to make healthy choices.
